Actor and director, Mark Lee  whose most prominent role was the lead in Peter Weir’s 1981 film Gallipoli, alongside Mel Gibson is to visit Kempsey later this week.
Kempsey South Public School teacher, Lyn Knight has arranged for Mark Lee to visit the school and Kempsey High School as part of a Gallipoli Centenary commemoration.
To enable the broader community to meet the actor, the Macleay Valley Arts Council will hold a screening of the award winning movie Gallipoli in the Bandbox Theatre at 7:30pm this Friday, April 24.
After the screening there will be light refreshments and an opportunity for the audience to chat with Mark about the making of the movie and his personal feelings about the Anzac tradition.
Tickets for the screening are $15, available from tickethost.com.au
