And Now for Something Completely Different

Glen Ravo moved to the area some five years ago, joined the Macleay Valley Arts Council and has been a constant supporter ever since. Now, it's your turn to show him some support at his first exhibition in the region, at the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery in Gladstone. Glen has won numerous international and national awards for his artwork.

Glen, speaking of his exhibition, says that the title tells you this selection of art is very different to what you would normally expect. Sculpture made from assortments of materials include muses, mermaids and angels along with many surrealist and humourist conceptual pieces. Paintings that have developed from its own energies along with spiritual effigies. The photography in this exhibition will amaze, question and make comment (on today's society) with imagery that will question the validity and indeed the artistic bent that you would not know could be a photograph, an art of creating art using photography. 

The exhibition opens Thursday 8^th Feb till 11^th then the following week 15^th Feb until 18^th. A meet the artist afternoon will be held at the gallery on Sat 10^th Feb from 3pm, free wine and nibbles provided. Come along and see “something completely different”.
