Baching Mad (that’s - ‘Barking Mad’) is a funk/classical/jazz/electronica duo creating a unique genre-bending artistic collaboration. Julie Croft on keyboards weaves music like a madcap Sorceress of Sound who's hell-bent on capturing you. Her colourful past spans classical piano recitals, keyboards in blues and contemporary ensembles and conducting massed choral concerts at the Sydney Opera House. The Nambucca Valley’s own Abe Mac on the skins will enthral you with his versatility and brilliance. Abe has played locally for many years in various outfits, including his current band ‘A Little Province’. After moving back from Byron Bay he is embracing an exciting new direction with this duo.

The Baching Mad experience presents captivating originals which embrace new ideas, textures, rhythms and colours within a genre-defying collage. Just when the groove is solid, the music may move seamlessly into other worlds, sometimes classical improvisations over funky rhythms, while at others, seismic shifts from one idea to the next. With influences traversing more than two centuries it weaves its way through funky laid-back grooves and bluesy blends to explosions of virtuosic brilliance.

The duo will be enriched by Armidale guest artist James Croft on Baching Mad trumpet and flugelhorn at the Oddfellows Hall, Kempsey on Saturday November 10th, starting 7:00 pm.

This is an indescribably unconventional musical melange, with heaps of passion and surprise. Check it out!... You'd be Baching Mad not to...
